Languages
Ziptask is available in seven languages. Each person chooses their own — it’s a personal preference, not an account-wide setting, so everyone on the team can use the app in the language they prefer.
Supported languages:
| Language | In-app name |
|---|---|
| English | English |
| Spanish | Español |
| Portuguese (Brazilian) | Português (Brasil) |
| French | Français |
| German | Deutsch |
| Italian | Italiano |
| Indonesian | Bahasa Indonesia |

There is no account-wide language setting — language is always per person, changeable only on your own profile.
How it works
Picking the default
On a brand-new sign-in, Ziptask picks the starting language from the device / browser language. If that language is one of the seven above it’s used automatically; otherwise it falls back to English. The person can change it at any time (below), and their choice is saved to their profile and applied on every device they log in on.
Changing your language
Open Profile → Preferences tab → Language and pick from the list. The app switches immediately — no reload or re-login needed — and the choice sticks for next time.
Dates, times, and numbers
Date and time formatting (12-hour vs. 24-hour, month and day names, first day of the week) follows the device’s region when its language matches the app language, and otherwise a sensible default for the chosen language (e.g. German shows 24-hour time, a Monday-first week). Currency amounts are not localized — they always display in the account’s configured currency symbol regardless of language.
Requesting another language
Don’t see your language? Under the Language picker, tap Request a language, search for it (typing the English name works too — “german” finds Deutsch), and send it. That files a request with the support team so we can gauge demand. Languages we already ship show up as “already available” rather than as a request.
Support notes
- Per person, not per account. One teammate on German and another on Portuguese is normal and expected; it does not affect anyone else or any shared data.
- Starter packs come in every language. The industry starter-pack templates are available in all seven languages; the Template Library shows the packs in the viewer’s language (with a language filter to browse others), and the industry pack offered when a free trial starts matches the account’s language.
- A couple of areas stay in English by design. The emoji picker search is not translated; everything in the core app UI is.
- Native apps need an update. On the web, new languages appear as soon as they ship. On the iOS and Android apps, the translations are bundled into the app, so a person needs the app version that introduced the language (update from the App Store / Play Store) to see it.
- Missing or odd wording? Report it through Help & Support → Contact support. Translations are reviewed over time; a specific phrase that reads wrong is useful to hear about.
