Support Leads (Admin)

Leads (Admin)

Overview

Every signup inquiry — from the marketing site, an ad, or a postcard scan — creates a lead (a pending signup request). The Leads page in the superuser admin area is where the Ziptask team reviews leads, tracks follow-up, and records notes. It works like a lightweight CRM.

This is a superuser-only page (internal Ziptask staff). Account admins and support agents do not see it.

The leads list

The list shows all leads, newest first, color-coded by onboarding completion via the colored rail on the left of each card:

ColorCompletion statusMeaning
🟢 GreenCompletedThe person finished onboarding and created an account
🟡 AmberPendingSigned up; the onboarding link is still valid
🔴 RedExpiredThe onboarding link expired before they finished

Each card also shows the sender, company, signup source, sign-up date, and the current disposition.

Filters

Filter presets narrow the list to the follow-up work that matters:

  • All — every lead
  • Needs follow-up — incomplete leads still marked New or Contacted
  • Converted — leads marked Converted
  • Dead — leads marked Dead

Search matches name, email, or company.

Lead detail

Click a lead to open its detail page, which shows:

  • Info — name, email, company, industry, signup source, sign-up and expiry dates, and (if completed) the account it became
  • Attribution — the marketing attribution captured at signup (UTM source/medium/campaign, landing page, referrer, and Google Ads gclid when present), so you can see which channel drove the lead
  • Disposition — a dropdown to set the follow-up state
  • Notes — a timeline of follow-up notes

Disposition

Disposition is your manual read on the lead, independent of whether they finished onboarding:

DispositionMeaning
NewNot yet worked (default)
ContactedYou’ve reached out
ConvertedBecame a customer
DeadNot pursuing further

Disposition is a working state, not an account action, so it is not written to the admin audit log — record the context (who you contacted, why you marked it dead) in the lead’s notes instead.

Notes

The Notes timeline is a private, superuser-only record of follow-up (“Emailed the owner 07/16”, etc.). Add a note with the composer; each note records who wrote it and when. Notes are internal only and are never shown to the lead.

Support notes

  • Where lead attribution comes from: captured on the marketing site and attached to the signup inquiry. First-party channel context (UTM, landing page, referrer) is recorded even if the visitor declined cookies; advertising identifiers (gclid, GA client id) require cookie acceptance.
  • Completed leads: a lead that finished onboarding stays in the list (green) and links to the account it created — it isn’t removed.
